My husband and I had purchased our 1st home and were ready to start a family. While dreaming of baby coos and baby smiles, I had no idea that the nightmare of infertility was right in front of us. We tried to naturally conceive for a little over a year before notifying my GYN of a potential problem. Once my GYN was involved, we began testing immediately. The result was a PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) diagnosis. After taking three fertility drugs and six months later, not a single pregnancy. At this point, we were around the two-year mark of trying to conceive and I could feel myself starting to panic. My GYN sent us to a fertility clinic to seek advanced treatment.
Our hope was renewed! My husband and I attended several appointments, and I completed additional testing, but we never saw the same doctor twice. I began to feel like a number on a chart. Deep down, I knew this wasn’t the right place for me. Full of disappointment and surrounded by hopelessness, my husband and I went back to my GYN looking other options. It was then I first heard about Dr. Christian Perez and the Procreate Fertility Clinic. I called the next day to make an appointment for a consultation with Dr. Perez.
On the day of the consultation, my emotions were running wild. I had such an impersonal experience trying to solve a deeply personal dilemma with the previous clinic that I had no idea what to expect. Nervously excited, I walked into Dr. Perez’s office and explained my situation. And he heard me! He heard my concerns, he heard my fears, and he heard my dreams of becoming a mother. Within minutes of me listening to his response, I was on the edge of my seat. I was mesmerized by his passion to find a solution and his excitement in the delivery of information he shared was contagious! I knew in these moments my life would be forever changed. I had found my doctor! Most importantly, he was going to help me have a baby!
Dr. Perez created a specific plan for me which included lots of medication, lots of injections but also resulted in successfully completing an egg retrieval, an IVF transfer, a healthy pregnancy, and a beautiful baby boy!! I have no doubt that I’m living my dream come true because of the brilliance and dedication of Dr. Perez, Kat, and the nursing staff at Procreate Fertility.
And that’s my story. However, the battle of infertility is a not for the weak. It is mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially draining. My experience includes sleepless nights, countless tears, endless prayers filled with desperate pleads, and constant heartache. So, I share my story to support the Procreate Foundation in their efforts to assist those trapped in the nightmare of infertility and yet have the strength, energy, and will power to fight for their dreams.
